Are you used to tossing a bath towel on the floor right after stepping out of the bath? And just like that, another towel ends up in the laundry pile! What if you could repurpose your old towels into a beautiful bathroom rug instead? Wouldn’t that be ideal?
After a certain amount of use, our towels become worn out and often end up torn and ragged. From now on, set them aside because your towels can be transformed into a gorgeous rug!
You will need 3 or 4 bath towels, scissors, thread, a needle, and pins.
- Cut the towels into strips about 3 inches wide.
- Stack three strips on top of each other and sew a stitch to hold them together.
- Braid the strips. When you reach the end, sew more strips onto the first three, braid again, and continue this way.
- You can also sew all the strips together to make three long strips, but this method is much harder to braid because of the length. A good compromise is to sew together 2-3 lengths of strips at a time, maximum.
- Once you have a long braid, coil it around itself, sewing a stitch every so often to keep it firmly in place.
You now have a stunning bath rug that didn’t cost you anything! Isn’t that wonderful?
