Cameron Smet: An Inheritance, but Above All His Own Path
Grandson of the legendary Johnny Hallyday, son of David and Alexandra Pastor, Cameron carries on his shoulders a heritage heavy with history. Yet at 22, he is clearly forging his own path. In 2024, he made a notable appearance in the music video for the new version of Sang pour sang, a project created with his father to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic song originally recorded with Johnny. This role struck a particular chord, especially due to his striking resemblance to his grandfather, which amazed everyone.
David himself acknowledged on RTL just how “quite astonishing” the resemblance was. However, music does not seem to be Cameron’s primary focus. His father shared with clear insight on the radio show On refait la télé:
“He could try, but he lacks confidence and it is not his main passion. He is meant to follow other paths. He inherited the ‘style’ of his mother, who worked in the fashion industry. He loves fashion and cinema. He is a very creative boy; he also draws remarkably well. He truly has something… rather unique.”
A Young Man Confidently Affirming His Difference
The portrait David paints of his son is one of pride mixed with deep respect. There is no question of confining Cameron to a preconceived family mold. David even adds with disarming frankness: “Being handsome isn’t enough. You also have to stand out through your actions.”
