My Inspiration: Cricut Maker
Do you have a craft room? I love to create things. One of my favorite crafts is making customized pennant banners. I make these for birthdays, weddings and baby showers. I enjoy crafting with paper and fabric. When I entertain I also make detailed party decorations. I used to do all of this by hand but have recently purchased the Cricut Maker. Now creating has become a whole lot easier, and a lot more fun. I love having a sleek, elegant machine that not only inspires me to create; it assists with the design and actually cuts the materials out for me! Where has this been my whole life? I am a complete beginner on this machine but I cannot wait to go to my craft room and create things.
Speaking of the craft room, I decided I needed a room dedicated to creating. I asked my husband if I could turn his workout room into a craft room (because it was kind of collecting dust). I looked on Pinterest and found all sorts of ideas with new cabinets and shelves. Luckily for our wallet, he said he preferred to keep the workout room as is, so I had to get creative with another space. I decided that I could revamp the closets and armoire in my spare bedroom to hold all my supplies.
Incredible Door Organizers
I bought some really cool 18″ closet organizers that hang over the door. Because of the location of the closet handles, I had to install slightly smaller 12″ closet organizers on the doors with handles. I also purchased a new drawer set (pictured next to sewing table below) and I finally have a place to put everything. One table is used with my Cricut and a second table is dedicated to sewing. I took all the bedding out of the armoire and organized it into one closet. Now I can use that armoire for my craft blanks such as t-shirts, pillows, glasses, and cups. The other closet is organized using plastic bins that hold different crafts. Of course, I made the labels with my Cricut. It took me three weekends, but I only spent around $200.00
Awesome Drawer Organizer
It is amazing how much the closet organizers hold. If you have a single closet to use for your craft room, or if you just need some extra storage space for small items, I highly recommend these units. They were super easy to install. You can get the little metal pails at the Target $1 section or at Party City. I also really love the drawer set. Each drawer is a covered box and can be pulled out separately. It stores 12×12 paper and is perfect for scrapbooking. I use mine for sewing supplies and fabric, but I am going to order another one for paper because I like it so much.
What do you think? Now I have a place to create. I should have taken some before pictures, but I did not. (Picture everything shoved into closets in bags and boxes, and the armoire filled with bedding, and you get the idea). Let me know about your craft room and what you love to create
